A Couple Random Thoughts...

If Wesley/The Dread Pirate Roberts was right when he said, “Life is pain, highness, anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something,” in The Princess Bride, then painkillers (drugs, therapies, woo, etc) would be a multi-billion-dollar industry whose marketing would consist of trying to convince people that they are the only ones suffering, and just buying this product will solve their…

…wait, what? 

Oh, right – we live in the world where those things are a multi-billion-dollar industry.

Proof that pirates are the source of all truly valuable wisdom?

If you draw a square, negative 20 feet on a side, its area is 400 sq.ft.  Now imagine that you tack said square as an addition to a house.  Does it make the house bigger or smaller?

Obviously, it has a positive area; therefore, it must increase the size of the house.  However, its perimeter is negative 80, therefore, the perimeter of the house is likely reduced by at least 60 feet.

Now if only we could figure out how to build a negative-dimensioned wall…
